Child of Light Ultimate Edition is now on Nintendo Switch, and if you haven’t heard of it yet, you are in for a treat. Playing as Aurora, the young daughter of a noblemen, you have been spirited away to an unknown land full of fantasy and tragedy. And in the typical JRPG style you will explore the land and help those in need, as you build your party to take on the evil dark queen Umbra! While this may sound pretty “copy-paste” from any other story, it is executed brilliantly through its watercolor art and professional sound schemes and voice acting.

Played this on the Wii U… Great game with a beautiful soundtrack. Might revisit if I see a deal on the E-shop. Well covered BG ..

I hope the sequel and TV series don't end up being more than a tease. The sequel has already been revealed to not be in production after all, but no news on the TV series

I highly, highly recommend Child of Light, but I do have one caveat: The writers tried to write all the dialogue in rhyming verse and failed miserably because apparently none of them had even a rudimentary understanding of poetic meter. (Or rhyming, for that matter.) If you care about that kind of thing *at all*, you may find it grating like I did. It certainly doesn't negate all the great parts of the game–like I said, I do highly recommend it–but there it is.

Really like this channel but with CoL being already such a well talked about game i would have rather a newer less known game reviewed.

I’ve been meaning to play this one for so long. I’ve had it on switch forever but your review definitely got me ready to start it up and finally beat the game. Good review!

One of the best games that no one i know played lol. This game and the Siralim series are criminally underrated (Siralim 3 is out right now but Siralim 2 routinely goes on sale for 2 or 3 bucks on flash sales. Keep a lookout for it. Trust me 👍).

I have it on Wii U, and I’ve been trying not to buy it again since it was really good. It’s definitely worth picking up for those who have never played it, especially at the great sale price. For me, I have a backlog of lots of games I need to play and there’s about a dozen new ones being released every week so I doubt I’d get to playing it if I bought it a second time, albeit it’s such a great value.

Here’s a thought, a spin-off of Budget Gamer channel, but for time management, and not monetary budget is what the focus of the channel should be about.

Nice review, as usual! I played this way back when it first came out and loved it. Definitely a cool game that I hope has a sequel at some point 😀
